Archives

The archives contain the following resources for the former Reach, Scugog, Port Perry, and Cartwright townships, now all part of the Township of Scugog:

  • Assessment rolls
  • Birth/death/marriage registers
  • Personal and agricultural census
  • Municipal records
  • Newspapers
  • Women's Institute records
  • Deeds, maps, municipal records and school records

We also have genealogy files catalogued by family name, a number of detailed family trees from local families and an extensive photographic collection.

Access to archival holdings are available by appointment only.

Visit our Research Room at no cost. This resource library includes local and general history books. Office hours and access to the research room are by appointment - please contact museum@scugog.ca to book your time!

Submit a Research Request

To submit a research request please complete the form below. Requests are completed in the order of which they are received.

Once your request is received, staff will check our holdings and let you know what materials are available at no charge. If you would like to review any materials found, a fee will apply. Staff completed research is available at an additional charge. Please see fee structure below.
