Healthy Lake Scugog Steering Committee

2022-2026 Council Term Board & Committee  

The mandate of the Healthy Lake Scugog Steering Committee is to research short- and long-term solutions to the health, aesthetics, climate impact, weed growth, eutrophication and other contributors that impact the enjoyment, fisheries, recreational activities, and events on the lake.  

At the December 16, 2024, Meeting of Council the following resolution was passed dissolving the Healthy Lake Scugog Steering Committee.

10.2.1 CORP-2024-002 - Healthy Lake Scugog Steering Committee Review

Seconded By:    Councillor Harold Wright

1.     That the staff report CORP-2024-002, Healthy Lake Scugog Steering Committee Review be received; and,

2.     That pursuant to Council direction provided to staff on December 3, 2024 with respect to not proceeding with the Lake Scugog Enhancement Project, the Healthy Lake Scugog Steering Committee (HLSSC) be dissolved; and,

3.     That the Scugog Environmental and Climate Change Advisory Committee (SECCAC) Terms of Reference be amended to increase the membership from 8 to 10 to accommodate two members from HLSSC; and,

4.     That members of the HLSSC be acknowledged and thanked for their continued dedication, contributions, and commitment to improving the quality and long-term sustainability of Lake Scugog.
